In order to know if a domain name is available for registration, you need to perform a Check Availability query.

When you register a domain name, it is registered to you for a certain number of years i.e., until its Registration term expires. If you plan to continue using it beyond its Expiry Date, then you need to renew it.

You can renew your domain name from your Control Panel with us.

In order to host a website on your domain name, you will need to obtain the Name Servers from the Web Hosting company with whom you wish to host your website and point your domain name to these Name Servers.

Contact your Web Hosting Company and find out from them the Name Servers you need to use. If you have purchased Web Hosting for your domain name through www.MagpieHost.com, then you need to set the Name Servers as specified by www.MagpieHost.com. Then login to your client area with us. Select domain name, and update nameserver.

Before proceeding with the Transfer, you are advised to first check the following:

• confirm if your domain name can be transferred.
• check if you require to obtain a Domain (Transfer) Secret or Authorization Code (known as Unique Domain Authentication ID (UDAI) for .NZ domain names) for your domain name prior to placing a Transfer request.

Once you have confirmed the above, you may place a Transfer request for your domain name with www.MagpieHost.com.

To Transfer your domain name away from www.MagpieHost.com to another Registrar

1. Before proceeding with the Transfer, you are advised to first check if your domain name can be transferred.
2. Once you have determined whether a domain name can be transferred, you will need to apply for the Transfer at the Registrar of your choice. Refer to the New/Gaining Registrar’s Transfer process to transfer your domain name under their management.
3. Once you have confirmed the Transfer with the New/Gaining Registrar, we would receive an intimation about this Transfer. www.MagpieHost.com would then be sending an email to the Registrant Contact of the domain name, informing them that a request for Transfer of this domain name has been placed with the New/Gaining Registrar.
4. The domain name will get transferred to the New/Gaining Registrar, at the expiry of 5 days from you having approved the Transfer at the New Registrar, provided the Registrant Contact does not cancel the Transfer.
